We were approached by local promoter Steve Robson to look after a whole range of production requirements for his Electric 80's New Year's Eve party, in what was described as a 'superclub' style setup at Cowes Yacht Haven.
With a pre-rig starting prior to Christmas, to keep production time to a minimum over the festive period, we supplied a full rigging package, flying much of the lighting and video requirements from the house roof beams using a flown 4-legged pyramid structure over the audience, mirrored by a multi-level pyramid dance floor beneath. Lighting fixtures included Martin Mac fixtures, MH-100s, LED battens, Atomic Strobes and Equinox Dragonflies. Lighting was augmented in the venue with 2x 4watt RGB lasers and a third 3.3watt laser.
We also supplied a ground support system to support a range of lighting, video and pyro systems. Projecting onto our 12' circular projection screen, using our Blackmagic systems to deal with real-time mapping of live video content supplied from DJ's Andy Crabb & Stuart Murray. In the run-up to midnight a coordinated video, lighting, audio and pyro sequence (using FireOne's Firelite system) with coordination between the various technologies handled by a Q-Lab Pro Video system. Pyro productions included mines, flames, gerbs, waterfalls and a range of airburst products, all topped off with a selection of glitter and confetti products fired over the audience.
A number of Litedeck based structures were also supplied around the room including a DJ booth and VIP platform for party revellers.
